What you'll do:

NinjaTrader is seeking highly motivated college students with a strong interest in machine learning to join our summer internship program. This internship offers hands-on experience in applied ML development within the fintech space, working alongside experienced professionals to contribute to meaningful projects for the #1 retail futures trading platform.

In this role you will:

Collaborate closely with senior machine learning engineers to support NinjaTrader’s ML roadmap
Assist in model evaluation by analyzing performance metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement
Contribute to feature engineering efforts to enhance model accuracy, robustness, and generalization
Participate in experiments to optimize model performance and support A/B testing initiatives
Help document best practices, findings, and model decisions for future iterations
Analyze large datasets using SQL and Python to extract meaningful insights
Support data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model tuning using Python and ML libraries such as Scikit-learn and XGBoost
Help build prototype pipelines for ML model deployment and monitoring
Gain exposure to cloud-based tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Looker
Collaborate with Product, Strategy, and Engineering teams to translate business problems into ML solutions

What you'll need:

Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
Demonstrated programming experience with Python and SQL
Familiarity with machine learning concepts, algorithms, and model evaluation techniques
Experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and Matplotlib
Basic understanding of probability theory and statistical inference
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for applying ML to real-world problems
Ability to communicate technical findings clearly and effectively
Self-motivated with strong time management and collaboration skills

Bonus points for:

Prior internship or project experience in machine learning or data science
Familiarity with MLOps, model versioning, or deployment best practices
Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other deep learning frameworks
