Job Title: Genomic Medicine Unit - BioAnalytics Summer/Fall 2026 Co-op
Location: Waltham, MA
About the Job
Are you ready to shape the future of medicine? The race is on to speed up drug discovery and development to find answers for patients and their families. Your skills could be critical in helping our teams accelerate progress.
This GMU BioAnalytics team is looking to hire a Co-op/Intern to assist on a few projects over the course of the ~ 6-month timeframe from July-December.
We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We’re also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Ready to get started?
Main Responsibilities:
Development of ULM Methods
The Co-op/Intern would be helping with development of ULM methods for iLab. These are guided methods that allow for capture of sample information, equipment, reagents, results in a Task Plan. I expect we will still have methods that need development next summer/fall
Timeline: 1-2 weeks of training followed by active development
The process to migrate these methods to iLab PROD would likely take longer than the co-op/internship period but we expect the co-op to assist and develop some methods during the time frame they are with us
Advanced Analytics
Most of BioA/BPA’s assay data from Fall 2025 onwards will be centrally stored in the harmonized data model (HDM). Dataiku | The Universal AI Platform™ is one of the main tools that iCMC Digital Transformation is supporting to access this centralized data and perform advanced analytics. Our team will leverage this data to see if we can use Dataiku to identify trends and patterns from this data, generate insights that can lead to efficiencies.
We will also look to see if we can take the information from SUE or PowerBI that captures operational efficiency to gain more applicable insights from it, as well as see if we can do this for our automated testing to better understand how to schedule testing or improve on ways of working.
Generative AI for Report Writing
There are two initial pathways we are starting to investigate: GenAIR and BioProcessAI. We hope to have our Co-op provide continuity to continue development of this project for future implementation.
