Summer Internships are intended for students to complete between their junior and senior year of undergraduate studies. We are unable to pursue candidates who require Visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Position Summary:
As an intern on the Enterprise Advanced Analytics team at Securian Financial, you will leverage data to drive business outcomes that align with Securian's Enterprise Vision and Operating Principles. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their business problems and apply a variety of data collection, analysis, visualization, and modeling techniques to address them.
You will gain valuable experience using industry standard tools and technologies like RStudio/Shiny, AWS, Tableau and Adobe. Additionally, you may gain exposure to how analytics, visualization, ML, and GenAI are applied to solve business problems and understand the value they bring to Securian Financial.
Responsibilities will vary by role but could include:
· Analyze large quantities of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to create actionable models and insights that drive business outcomes.
·Communicate results to business stakeholders in a clear manner with a focus on results.
·Work with a variety of internal stakeholder groups to understand their business challenges and translate them into data science and analytics products and solutions.
·Design and implement measurement and testing strategies.
·Translate business requirements to data collection strategies, in compliance with relevant governance and regulatory guidelines
·Utilize GenAI tools to solve business problems such as comment/text analysis, data extraction, or summarization.
Qualifications:
·Experience in R, Python, Tableau, or related technologies.
·Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
·Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently.
·Quick learner that is willing to ‘dig in’ to complex and challenging problems.
·Strong technical proficiency and an ability to learn quickly.
·Strong moral and ethical compass, ensuring we provide fair, unbiased solutions that don’t harm our customers, associates, or our company/brand.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Data Science, Economics or another relevant technical subject.
