What You’ll Do:
Support Engineering personnel with efforts in new product design and modifications to existing products. Responsible for tooling design including mold design for plastic parts used in aerial spacer cable systems and molded insulators. Responsible for drafting of engineering drawings, part drawings, assemblies, construction drawings, material procurement standards, work instructions etc. Enter and review parts in Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) Work with vendors to develop new and modified designs for accessory parts & products Design test fixtures to perform mechanical tests on products to ensure components meet requirements and are inherently safe when properly applied Responsible for creating test reports for product compliance. Provide Mechanical engineering assistance across all Overhead Solutions Group
What You’ll Need:
1. Entering Junior or Senior year of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering
2. Knowledge of engineering principles involved in the design, manufacture and testing of new products and tooling.
3. Experience with SolidWorks or ANSYS finite element analysis or similar software
Work Hours/Length of Program:
·The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August
·Full Time, 40 hours per week.
·Exact start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules and the needs of the business.
·This is a paid internship.
