Job Description:
Saab Inc. is currently searching for self-motivated engineering students to work in our Syracuse, NY office to assist in system analysis, modeling and simulation, systems integration and test in the deployment of next-generation solutions for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Surface Surveillance Systems. This co-op opportunity will be for Summer 2026 (May-August).
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work on a cutting-edge system that directly support the flight operations in the U.S. As a Co-Op Systems Engineer on the team, you will have the chance to work with a diverse group of internal and external team members, spanning numerous disciplines and all experience levels.
Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:
Work independently on routine tasks and with moderate guidance on new or complex tasks
Perform simple analysis of basic requirements
Perform modeling, simulation and trade studies using appropriate tools and technology
Present results/content to others
Contribute to professional, high-quality documentation
Assist in the design and documentation of the system configuration in accordance with the Saab and customer design standards
Compensation Range:$20-$22/hr
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in engineering or computer science
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
US Citizenship Status
Must have completed Sophomore year or greater.

Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
