Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth.

The position supports the Disputes & Economics Practice, one of six key client-focused practices within the Firm.

Ankura is recognised as one of the five fastest-growing consulting firms, with 2,200 employees across more than 35 offices globally, offering a range of advisory and expert services to both private and public sectors.  We are a boutique firm delivering high profile client projects.

Disputes & Economics practice:

Our Disputes & Economics practice focuses on assisting clients with financial and accounting issues associated with complex litigation and international arbitration.  In legal disputes there are often elements which need expert accounting or valuation input – for example, investigating whether financial statements contained errors, or quantifying the amount of loss that has been suffered.  This is where we act – preparing expert reports and providing oral testimony in court and arbitrations on forensic accounting, damages and valuation matters and competition and class action claims.

About the Internship:

This internship is ideal for those seeking a career in forensic accounting, valuation or economics and in pursuing an accounting qualification.  Ankura, as a registered training provider, supports graduates in obtaining an ACA or ACCA accountancy qualification or CFA chartership in a dynamic dispute resolution environment.

We will provide one to one and small group technical training on topics such as accounting and valuation.  You will be able to develop your analysis, report writing and Excel skills.

You will find out first-hand if this is the career for you. You could go back to university with a graduate job offer. Either way, you’ll develop many new skills and qualities that will be valuable whatever you choose to do.

You will be assigned a buddy and a mentor to welcome you and to help integrate you into the company and support your development. They will assist in setting goals for your ten-week tenure and facilitate biweekly meetings to develop your technical skills.

What you will do:

You will experience varied client work – no two days are the same. You will be working collaboratively as part of the project team, working with skilled, intelligent, driven and successful individuals.  Day to day tasks as an intern are likely to include:

  • Document review and analysis, including financial statement analysis;

  • Assisting in preparation of valuation models, including cash flow analysis and discount rate estimation;

  • Carrying out and collating research;

  • For those with a background in economics, performing econometric analysis;

  • Presenting your findings to the project team.

You have the opportunity to conclude your internship with a group presentation demonstrating the skills and knowledge learned throughout your time with the team.

Requirements:

  • Be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a confirmed one-year postgraduate place.

  • Achieve or be on course for a 2:1 undergraduate degree or above.

  • Be numerically literate.

  • Interest in a career in forensic accountancy, valuation and/or economics, with a view to obtaining your ACA Accounting qualification (or equivalent professional qualification) in the future.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong research and analytical skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Initiative, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills, and an ability to work well in teams.

Application Process:

Due to high application volumes, incomplete submissions will not be considered. Please submit:

  • An up-to-date CV.

  • An example of written work from your degree course demonstrating critical thinking.

  • A covering letter (max 300 words) outlining your understanding and interest in forensic accounting and/or valuation expert witness services, focusing on one area, and why you want to pursue a career in forensic accounting and disputes.

Closing Date: Applications close on Sunday 12 October 2025 at 11.59 pm.
