The purpose of the Research & Development Intern (Mineral Development) internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, geoscience, or a similar field. Interns will be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the energy business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part-time/hourly.
- Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in an associate, bachelor's or master’s degree program in chemical engineering, chemistry, geoscience, or related field
- Prior utility or energy industry experience helpful but not required
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective project management skills
- Effective analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects within tight deadlines
- Employment is contingent upon passing a post-offer background check and drug screen

- Support R&D staff on research topics related to lithium recovery from geothermal brine
- Conduct selective literature research and review
- Conduct tasks related to documentation, data analysis, and reporting
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
