Specialty Pharmacy Intern – Graduate

Position Purpose:The pharmacy intern will learn both clinical and business skills that will prepare them for a career in specialty pharmacy. They will primarily work with pharmacists to support clinical and operational initiatives. Some examples of experiences include biosimilar therapeutic interchange, brand to generic conversions, and accreditation, or practice compliance-related initiatives.

• Analyze pharmacy/medical claims data to improve quality or cost-effectiveness of care
• Review drug information literature to make evidence-based clinical decisions
• Support quality initiatives to improve appropriate medication use
• Perform quality review via user acceptance testing of decision tools in proprietary systems
• Learn various clinical services that specialty pharmacies provide to clients
• Convey knowledge of clinical savings capabilities and opportunities in applied markets

Education/Experience: Must be enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited university or college pursuing their Doctor in Pharmacy degree and not have graduated. Must be available to work 12 weeks between May and September.

Pay Range: $21-30/hour

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
