Plains Pipeline, L.P. is offering an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated student to join our Health, Safety, and Environmental Remediation Team in the Midland office for a three month summer term beginning May 18, 2026.

This internship provides hands-on experience in environmental remediation and project management while supporting Plains’ HSE and remediation programs. The position is designed to bridge the gap between academic studies and professional practice, offering exposure to technical fieldwork, data analysis, project coordination, and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination, management, and execution of environmental site assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects.

    • Coordinate field schedules with Remediation Inspectors.

    • Track and manage project budgets.

    • Participate in project management and staff planning meetings.

    • Review project documentation and communications.

    • Compile, interpret (with support), and communicate technical field data.

    • Prepare project status updates and maintain the NR Project Tracking List.

    • Organize and maintain project files and documentation.

  • Conduct project file reviews to gather site specific remediation data.

  • Support compliance with the Plains Remediation Process and HSE policies.

  • Interface with internal departments, vendors, and consultants to support project activities.

  • Perform administrative duties such as data compilation and project tracking.

  • Prepare and deliver an end-of-term presentation summarizing key findings, learnings, and accomplishments.

Qualifications

  • Must be available to work at the Midland, TX office at least five days per week for the full three-month term.

  • Occasional fieldwork may be required and could extend beyond standard work hours.

  • Preference given to 3rd- or 4th-year students pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Engineering.

  • Must be able to start May 18, 2026, and commit to the full work term.

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manufacture information into clear conclusions and recommendations.

  • Prior experience in environmental services, engineering, or administrative support is considered an asset.

  • Must be flexible and adaptable to everchanging daily objectives.

  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • The successful candidate must comply with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing.

  • Ability to provide three satisfactory references from past managers/teachers and pass a Criminal Background Check.
