The Underwriting Corporate Internship Program is a 10.5-week full-time opportunity that starts on May 27th, 2026, and concludes on August 7th, 2026.

This is a hybrid position with 3 days (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the Hartford, CT office location. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home, office, or another location of your choice.

The hourly rate is  $25/hr with 40 hours/ week, no work on July 4th (company holiday), and two days of paid leave. Additionally, our corporate interns have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a future role with CVS Health.

Sponsorship: Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.  This includes participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.

Relocation: CVS Health follows a hybrid work model providing office-based colleagues the ability to flex between working in the office and working from home based on the work you need to accomplish. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that need to move over 50 miles.

Our Underwriting teams play a key role in shaping pricing strategies and driving business growth across Commercial, International, and Government insurance products. Through cross-functional partnership, accurate analysis, and risk assessment, underwriters help to provide strategic solutions which are affordable and satisfactory to the member and plan sponsor.

Examples of past internship work include:

  • Price new and existing business with the goal of selling and retaining profitable customers
  • Act as a strategic partner to support overall management of your book of business
  • Work with internal partners in sales and account management to negotiate pricing, create benefit plan designs and cross sell additional products/programs in support of our customers
  • Collaborate with actuarial to refine pricing based on changes in future medical costs, trends and customer specific data
  • Participate in leadership development opportunities such as networking, solution-focused business projects and career coaching and feedback

Required Qualifications

  • Meet educational requirements (see education section)
  • Have a willingness to commute or relocate to the Hartford, CT office
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience. Examples include active roles in student or social organization activities, sports, or school or work-related projects
  •  Experience with coding software such as VBA, R, or Python
  • Prior internship/work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem resolution skills
  • Be resourceful and possess the ability to adapt to change

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Have an anticipated graduation date between September 2026 and August 2027
  • Have a major, minor or concentration in Risk Management & Insurance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$25.00 - $25.00
