Internship is based at the respective RH offices (Cork, Waterford, Dublin) with flexible working hours.
Red Hat is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Customer Exploration Intern to join our RH AI Platform organization, supporting efforts to build, test, and deliver next-generation MLOps capabilities as part of Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI). As a member of our DevOps engineering group, you will work closely with experienced DevOps, QE, and software engineers to develop and maintain tools, pipelines, and workflows that enhance developer efficiency and streamline the delivery of our software products while also helping to test our platform like a customer would. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in CI/CD pipeline engineering, DevOps automation, cloud-native technologies, and the evolving world of AI/ML operations, all while contributing to real open-source products in production.
At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.
Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, full-time internship based at the respective RH offices (Cork, Waterford, Dublin), with flexible working hours. The expected start date is January 2026.
What you will do:
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines used for building, testing, and releasing components of the Red Hat OpenShift AI platform
Assist in the automation of internal services and workflows, reducing friction for developers and improving engineering efficiency.
Collaborate with engineers across DevTestOps, Product Engineering, and QE teams to support delivery goals
Learn and apply GitOps principles to manage configuration and deployment of automation tasks
Participate in maintaining the health of DevOps infrastructure including Jenkins jobs, GitHub actions, and other automation tools
Help document processes and tools to support team knowledge sharing
Experiment with and explore AI-assisted development tools that may enhance team productivity
Support release processes, including validation, smoke tests, and infrastructure readiness for Red Hat AI products
Test like a customer and provide feedback and recommendations on how to make our RHOAI platform better
What you will bring:
You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from January till August 2026
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
Enthusiasm to learn and grow in the fields of DevOps, AI/ML, and cloud-native software development
Some familiarity with Linux environments and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
Curiosity about how CI/CD pipelines work and a willingness to explore tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Basic understanding of Git or other version control tools
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your Github account), and extracurricular activities.
Please apply for a maximum of three internship roles that best match your interests and skills.
