Job Description

GE Vernova Wind is committed to maximizing the reliability and efficiency of our global wind turbine fleet. By leveraging advanced AI and robotics technologies, we empower operational teams to accelerate the energy transition and deliver reliable renewable power.

In this internship, you will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to develop and deploy AI solutions that improve turbine availability through enhanced planning, scheduling, execution, and automation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply AI and Generative AI techniques in a mission-critical industrial environment, gaining hands-on experience while making a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with field technicians, operations managers, and planners to gather and clarify operational availability requirements.

• Develop and prototype AI and Generative AI models targeting key availability drivers.

• Integrate AI capabilities into Salesforce.com (e.g., Agentforce) and other approved platforms supporting planning and execution processes.

• Partner with cross-functional teams within GE Vernova to align AI solutions with business objectives.

• Analyze operational data to generate actionable insights that enhance turbine availability.

Required Characteristics

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in science, economics, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or similar quantitative field of study

• Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA or 4.0/5.0 GPA (without rounding)

• Proficient in modern data science tools like Python, Pandas, Scala, Spark, Dask, Airflow, Matplotlib, Plotly, Jupyter Notebook or other similar technologies

• Skilled in using GenAI techniques like Context Engineering

• Familiar with integrating GenAI technology into agentic workflows

• Ability to consume and create Web APIs (e.g. ReST, gRPC)

• Clear communicator who can explain complex concepts in simple and concise terms

• Value collaboration within and across teams

Desired Characteristics

• Strong understanding of statistics and probability concepts

• Knowledge of SQL and Data modeling

• Familiar with deploying software to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Possess a curiosity to explore how to use data, cutting edge technology, data science tools and techniques to continuously add value for our customers

• Passionate about data quality and delivering actionable information that is impactful to our customers and GE Vernova

• Steadfast in creating code that is understandable, simple, and clean

• Familiar with software development techniques, tools, and processes like source control (Git), Functional or Object Oriented Programing, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $27.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

• Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

• Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

• Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services

• GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
