Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

We are currently looking for an Engineering Development Tool Support Intern to join us for an 8-month internship at our Toronto office.

The Engineering Development Tool Support Intern provides support in the development of Polarion automation, including customized reports, dashboards, and required scripts. In addition, this role supports integration with other tools, plug-in and widget development. Furthermore, where required, provides guidance for Polarion-related activities, ensuring that our implementation adheres to the needs and requirements of all teams using Polarion.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Custom Scripts and Widgets: Assist in the development of custom Velocity scripts, Java extensions, and Polarion widgets to support project-specific reporting and data visualization needs.
  • Support Integration Efforts: Collaborate with the team to build or maintain integrations between Polarion and other engineering or project management tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, custom scripts).
  • Contribute to Report Automation: Develop automated reports and dashboards that extract and display key metrics from Polarion, ensuring accuracy and usability for stakeholders.
  • Support Validation and Testing of Features: Participate in testing and validation of new scripts, features, or configurations to ensure they meet requirements and do not disrupt current use.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document all developed scripts, plug-ins, and custom configurations in a clear and structured manner to support future maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Assist with identifying root causes of Polarion script or plug-in failures and propose solutions or improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience:

    • Prior hands-on experience using Polarion ALM, either through academic projects, internships, or previous COOPs would be appreciated
  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
    • Good attention to detail and commitment to delivering reliable and tested solutions
    • Ability to understand user requirements and translate them into technical implementations
  • Language:

    • Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Any certifications in Polarion, ALM tools, or Agile/Scrum are considered a plus

Special Position Requirements:

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Physical Environment: Office environment
  • Travel: Not required
