POSITION SUMMARY:

The summer AI Engineer intern is a new and critical role that will drive AI adoption and innovation across the Private Equity strategy. This role will support Audax’s engineers in developing AI-driven pipelines, products and custom GPTs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in machine learning, NLP, and AI infrastructure, combined with the ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and conduct training sessions on ChatGPT, prompt engineering, and AI applications tailored to different business functions.

Collaborate with engineering and data teams to design, develop, and deploy AI models, pipelines, and automation workflows that optimize internal processes and investment analysis.
Work hands-on with AI infrastructure, ensuring that AI applications are scalable, secure, and well-integrated with existing data systems.
Develop and optimize AI/ML pipelines, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Design and implement agentic AI workflows where AI models can autonomously make decisions, retrieve external information, and execute multi-step tasks.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Strong understanding of NLP, LLMs, and generative AI applications.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders

TECHNOLOGY QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
Experience working with LangChain, AutoGen, OpenAI Function Calling, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) to build AI agents that interact with APIs, databases, and user queries.Hands-on experience with AI model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and deploying LLM-powered applications.
Experience with enterprise AI integration, working with tools like Snowflake, Databricks, or other data platforms to power AI-driven insights.

Location: Boston, MA. This position is in the office 3 days/week. These in-office requirements may be adjusted based on the needs of the business.
