With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

As an IP Product Engineering intern, you’ll sit at the intersection of hardware design, architecture, and product — helping bridge technical innovation with real-world application. If you love understanding how complex systems come together and want to contribute to technology that’s shaping the future of AI hardware, this role is for you.

This role is on-site, 40 hours, based out of Toronto, CAN

Who You Are

  • A curious and motivated student who loves connecting the dots between hardware, software, and product.
  • Excited by how AI processors are designed and how concepts in VLSI, RISC-V, and ASIC methodology come together to build real chips.
  • Interested in understanding how architectural ideas become products used in real-world systems.
  • Organized, collaborative, and eager to learn from experienced engineers in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Comfortable asking questions, taking initiative, and exploring new areas in compute design and product development.

What We Need

  • A co-op or PEY student pursuing a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Academic exposure to computer architecture, VLSI, or digital design concepts.
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog, SystemVerilog) and ASIC design methodology.
  • Interest in RISC-V and modern AI processor architectures.
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, Perl, or similar).
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning how technical design decisions connect to broader product strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with architecture, design, and software teams to define and track features for AI processor IP products.
  • Assist with benchmarking, data analysis, and competitive research to guide product direction.
  • Support documentation and specification tracking for IP components and RISC-V–based subsystems.
  • Help maintain internal tools, dashboards, and scripts used for performance and configuration tracking.
  • Learn about ASIC design methodology and VLSI implementation flows through collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Contribute to cross-functional meetings and gain insight into how IP design, verification, and product management connect.
