Alteryx is seeking a motivated and curious Information Security Intern to join our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team for a 6-month paid internship based in Bangalore (hybrid work model). This role offers hands-on experience in how a global SaaS company manages trust, compliance, and security through data, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI).
You’ll gain exposure to both the process and technology sides of information security—working on initiatives that enhance governance frameworks, strengthen risk management, and help automate assurance workflows that keep customer data secure.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage AI and automation tools to support the completion and review of customer security questionnaires and due-diligence requests using approved platforms and standardized responses.
Assist in conducting vendor risk reviews, evaluating third-party security controls, and supporting ongoing vendor assurance activities.
Assist in maintaining compliance documentation and evidence aligned with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS (global standards for cloud and information security).
Contribute to GRC Engineering initiatives focused on automation, data accuracy, and process efficiency in security assurance activities.
Participate in internal security and privacy reviews, ensuring documentation accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
Support projects that enhance visibility and reporting on security posture and compliance performance through data or process improvements.
Collaborate with global team members to learn how governance and risk management evolve to strengthen customer and organizational trust.
Preferred Skills & Academic Background:
Pursuing a B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc. in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong interest in information security, risk management, and compliance.
Familiarity with key security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS) or relevant coursework.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and curiosity in connecting security, risk, and business objectives.
Optional: exposure to scripting, automation, machine learning, or AI tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What You’ll Gain :
Real-world experience in security governance, customer and vendor risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Insight into how GRC builds and sustains trust across a global SaaS organization.
Mentorship from experienced professionals in Information Security, GRC, and GRC Engineering.
Collaboration with a global security and compliance team across multiple regions.
A foundation for future roles in security assurance, GRC engineering, AI security, or risk analytics.
Potential for high-performing interns to be considered for future opportunities at Alteryx.
Ideal Candidate:
You’re an engineering or cybersecurity student who wants to explore how technology and governance come together to build trust. You enjoy solving structured problems, improving processes, and learning how strong risk and compliance practices empower innovation. Curiosity, precision, and a passion for secure and intelligent operations will make you a great fit for this role.
Find yourself checking a lot of these boxes but doubting whether you should apply? At Alteryx, we support a growth mindset for our associates through all stages of their careers. If you meet some of the requirements and you share our values, we encourage you to apply.
