2026 Undergraduate Summer Intern – Job Posting
Department Title: Undergrad Intern – Global Pricing and Valuation Services - Valuations
Location: San Mateo, CA
Start Date: All interns must start in office and in person on June 8, 2026.
Anticipated End Date: August 14, 2026 – All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment.
Position Summary:
Department Overview
The Quantitative Team within Global Pricing and Valuation Services (“GPVS”) researches and builds valuation models for private equity, debt, and derivatives securities held in various Mutual Funds and Private Equity Funds. The Team also performs ad hoc analysis and valuation on restructurings, corporate actions, and financial markets. The activities of the Quant Team and GPVS are governed by the Valuation Committee (“VC”) and Mutual Fund Boards.
• Use complex valuation models to price Private Equity and Private debt such as discounted cashflow models, comparable models, option pricing models, etc.
• Use judgement to make decisions on the valuation assumptions.
• We are responsible for valuation of all the private investments which Franklin Templeton makes across Globe.

• Valuation Techniques: Develop a strong understanding of diverse valuation concepts and methodologies used in the financial industry.
• Professional Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders across multiple teams and business functions.
• Time Management: Learn to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic situations.
Key Responsibilities Can Include:
• Assisting the Senior Quantitative Valuation Analyst in day-to-day tasks.
• Preparing draft valuation models, including revenue and profitability assumptions.
• Preparing warrant and option pricing models.
• Preparing valuation write-ups.
• Assisting the Global Pricing and Valuation Services team with ad-hoc pricing requests.
• Drafting emails for communication with the front office regarding reasonability of our assumptions and price levels.
• Assisting the team with audit requests.
• Conducting analysis on various corporate action events in trade halt securities to recommend accurate pricing.
Ideal Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Math, or other quantitative discipline.
• Pursuing CFA or CFA L1 cleared.
• Knowledge of mutual fund/financial services industry and private equity and venture capital.
• Basic knowledge of financial instruments such as derivatives, fixed income, and equity.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (IF function, vlookup, basic understanding of excel macros)
• Basic knowledge of various valuation methods such as comparable company analysis, discounted cashflow method, and black scholes model for option pricing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of databases such as Bloomberg would be an added advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 37.5 hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $30 USD per hour.
