About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Sector Consulting Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public sector consulting, working on real-world projects that impact communities. The intern will support our consultants in delivering high-quality services to our clients, which include local, state, and federal government agencies. As a Public Sector Consulting Intern, you will be involved in various aspects of consulting, from initial research and analysis to the implementation of strategic solutions.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about public service and eager to contribute to meaningful projects that improve government operations and public services. The intern will gain valuable experience in consulting methodologies, project management, and stakeholder engagement, while developing a deeper understanding of public sector challenges and opportunities.

What You’ll Do

·Research and Data Analysis: Conduct thorough research on public policy issues, public sector programs, and industry trends. Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to support project goals and client needs. Present your findings through detailed reports, charts, and presentations that provide actionable insights.

·Project Support: Assist in the design, development, and execution of consulting projects. This includes drafting project plans, creating timelines, and developing strategic recommendations. You'll be involved in preparing client deliverables such as presentations, reports, proposals, and strategic plans.

·Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in client meetings, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to understand client challenges and requirements. Assist in facilitating discussions, gathering feedback, and ensuring client needs are accurately captured and addressed.

·Policy and Program Evaluation: Contribute to the evaluation of public policies and programs. This may involve assessing the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of existing policies, as well as recommending improvements or alternative approaches.

·Communication and Documentation: Ensure clear and consistent communication with team members and clients. Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting notes, progress reports, and action items.

·Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including subject matter experts, senior consultants, and project managers, to deliver high-quality consulting services. Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment, contributing ideas and solutions to project challenges.

What You Will Need to Succeed

·Interest in Public Sector: Demonstrated interest in public policy, government operations, and public sector challenges.

·Flexibility: Ability to adapt to fast changing environment and various needs of the client.

·Education: You are in the final phase of your university studies or have already completed them with excellent grades, preferably in economics, political science, law, or public administration.

·Experience: Ideally, you have some initial experience in the public sector, risk management, strategy development, and/or crisis management within a consultancy or corporate setting.

·Analytical Skills: You possess strong analytical and research skills, demonstrate a high level of performance and initiative, and excel in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with various research methodologies and data collection techniques will be an advantage.

·Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.

·Communication Skills: You can professionally and persuasively communicate work results, ideas, questions, and problems to both colleagues and management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

·Language Skills: You are fluent in written and spoken German and English. Proficiency in an additional foreign language is advantageous but not required.

·IT Proficiency: You have advanced proficiency in IT, particularly with the MS Office365 suite.

·Time Management: Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

·Networking Abilities: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships within and outside the organization.

·Cultural Competence: Awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences and diversity in public sector contexts.
