Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking an Engineering Co-op to join our Innovation Excellence Team for Spring 2026 located in Danvers, MA.

Position Summary

The innovation excellence engineering co-op provides foundational support in the development, testing, and lifecycle management of Impella Pumps, Accessories, and related technologies. This role offers an opportunity to learn and contribute to product design, validation, and continuous improvement while gaining valuable experience in a regulated MedTech environment.

Key Responsibilities:
 

Design & Development

  • Assist in executing basic design, testing, and validation activities under supervision.

  • Support documentation and reporting of test results, issues, and product data.

  • Contribute to minor design improvements and design for manufacturability initiatives.
     

Product Lifecycle & Sustaining Engineering

  • Help in troubleshooting product issues, field feedback, and escalation investigations.

  • Support activities related to product updates, validation, and compliance documentation.
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior engineers, R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to support project tasks.

  • Assist in gathering and organizing technical data and documents needed for projects and audits.

  • Support technical reviews and updates on product features.

Minimum Requirements

  • Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in mechanical, biomedical engineering or directly related discipline.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in a regulated product environment.

  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to follow directions, support multiple tasks, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

23$ per hour to 51.50$ per hour

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The anticipated base pay for this position is between 23$ per hour and 51.50$ per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and the Company’s consolidated retirement plan in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans. Housing stipend will be offered for those that qualify. This position is ineligible for severance.
