Actuarial Intern

This position will be a part-time, remote role that starts in fall 2025.

The Role:

This position will work closely with our Actuarial team to provide support for the ProAg underwriting unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct machine learning models (via Python & Snowflake) for federally reinsured crop insurance
• Assist in establishing framework to partially / fully automate data acquisition & model runs
• Communicate modeling results to the business unit
• Document results clearly and concisely (OneNote for daily updates & MS Word for project executive summaries)
• Use Git for source control via the VSCode IDE

Minimum Knowledge, Qualifications and Education Requirements:    

• Preferably studying Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• Must have 60 completed hours with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Exemplary communication skills.
• Proven organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote), Adobe, SharePoint, Python, Snowflake / SQL, ChatGPT, etc.
• Preferably has experience constructing machine learning models

For candidates working in person or remotely, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is ($19-$26/hourly).The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, nondiscriminatory factors set by the Company.
