The Opportunity:
CACI's Mastodon Design team in Rochester, NY is seeking Electrical Engineer Co-op/Interns for Spring and or Summer 2026 to support the hardware development of complex digital and RF communications equipment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work alongside seasoned professionals, and make a tangible impact on real-world projects. You will be involved in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems, providing you with a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles and practices.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components

  • Conduct research and analysis to support project goals

  • Perform simulations and modeling of electrical circuits and systems

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans

  • Support the testing and validation of electrical prototypes

  • Document design processes, test results, and project progress

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for review by senior engineers

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in electrical engineering



Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering concepts

  • Familiarity with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., DxDesigner, Altium)

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal



Desired:

  • Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems

  • Familiarity with PCB design and layout

  • Knowledge of power, high speed digital, and or RF electronics design

  • Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE or Simulink

  • Internship or project experience in a related field

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$39,900-$79,900
