Requirements:

The Critical Care team at Abiomed is seeking a co-op to help design the next generation of innovative cardiac support devices. The candidate will work on a cross-functional team, translating user needs into innovative workflows and designs. This is a great opportunity to gain skills in implementing the end-to-end user-centered design process.

  • Create and prepare design elements, style guides, templates and finished solutions for developer handoff
  • Work closely with designers, product and data scientists to define UI interactions and specs
  • Plan, conduct and present primary and secondary research in order to inform experience requirements
  • Design user flows, lo-fi, mid-fi and high-fi concepts, prototypes and other design artifacts

Qualifications:

  • Student pursuing a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, UX Design or relevant field
  • Experience designing interfaces in Figma or similar
  • A working knowledge of usability best practices, accessibility guidelines and current design trends
  • An understanding of qualitative user research methodologies
  • An interest in medical devices and the healthcare industry

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$23.00/hr to $51.50/hr

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.00 per hour and $51.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
