The Role
This is a 5 month Spring Co-Op opportunity in Norwood, MA from January 20, 2026 – June 26, 2026. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the internship. Start date will be January 20, 2026.
The Global Manufacturing Systems organization at Moderna is looking for top talent in science and engineering to deliver on its mission to design manufacturing processes for mRNA medicines. Summer Interns will have an opportunity to be part of high-performing project teams developing new manufacturing system integrations and data modeling, unlocking substantial value in Moderna’s automation and analytics capabilities. You will apply your educational background and learn new technical skills in data engineering, data modeling, visualization development, and systems integrations. You will develop a deep understanding of translating business and process requirements to technical software solutions across manufacturing and quality systems processes.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Work with a team of highly skilled experts to come up to speed quickly on technology and techniques.
Assist in building and testing web applications using modern development tools.
Learn to integrate data from databases, APIs, and third-party applications.
Support the creation of user-friendly UI/UX experiences.
Contribute to writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Participate in debugging and troubleshooting activities.
Shadow engineers during code reviews, deployments, and technical support sessions.
Engage in training opportunities to grow technical and professional skills.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Current student enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills for the support of industrial data systems
Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, or C++).
Curiosity about web development frameworks (React, Angular, Flutter, etc.).
Interest in learning about data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Grafana).
Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
GPA of 3.5 on a 4 scale or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as the ability to contribute to high performing teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exposure to front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with deployment of containerized applications using Kubernetes EKS.
Proficiency with GraphQL APIs and Graph databases.
Proficiency with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgresQL).
