Job Summary

The trainee will work under the direct supervision of Hyuckjoon Kang, Instructor in Medicine in the Kuroda Lab, to map the genomic binding patterns of variant Polycomb Repressive Complexes (vPRC1) in Drosophila.

Qualifications

The trainee will perform chromatin crosslinking, ChIP-sequencing, and other molecular biology techniques. The trainee will perform bioinformatic analyses of the resulting genomic binding data as well as analysis of protein interactions mapped by mass spectrometry. The trainee will be responsible for analyzing, graphing and reporting all data.

Student in a degree program leading to a Master’s degree in bioinformatics.

Good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to work with a high level of precision

Ability to perform basic bioinformatic analyses and prioritize work

Ability to troubleshoot and seek outside expertise when needed
