Internship assignment:

We are looking for a highly motivated intern to support our Technical Service team in the areas of permitting, environmental compliance, and operational controls. You will work closely with the Permit and Environmental Controls Engineer to help ensure the factory’s operations remain compliant with all regulatory requirements, particularly in a sensitive water protection zone. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, updating, and review of environmental and operational permits & applications. 
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for compliance with environmental laws (e.g., BImSchG, WHG). 
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring activities (e.g., water protection measures, emissions tracking). 
  • Conduct regulatory research and summarize requirements for technical operations. 
  • Assist in compiling internal environmental audits and preparing for external inspections. 
  • Support the creation of technical documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Maintain databases related to environmental monitoring, permit tracking, and compliance reporting. 
  • Participate in site walk-throughs to support inspections and control measures documentation. 

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or finalized bachelor’s or master’s degree program (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar). 
  • Strong interest in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and operational controls. 
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail. 
  • Basic understanding of German environmental laws and standards (or willingness to learn). 
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with document management systems is a plus. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (German is required). 
  • Independent, proactive working style and ability to handle confidential data. 
  • Prior experience with permitting processes, environmental monitoring, or regulatory reporting is an advantage.
