Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies, Defense Electronics Sector (Headquartered in Cincinnati, OH) is offering an internship within our Contracts Department. This role is designated for a highly motivated individual seeking to gain experience in contract management and administration in the aerospace/defense and technology industries. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, high ethical standards, strong organizational and communication skills, a penchant for risk mitigation, and be a team player able deliver results in order to meet our commitments while adhering to L3Harris Values.
Likely roles and responsibilities to include:
- Assist in the proposal, administration, and general business process for contract management support to complex, multi-year, Government, Commercial, and international programs, in accordance with Company policies, government regulations and customer requirements
- Process contract funding and modifications into ERP system and maintain program performance metrics
- Assist and lead process improvement initiatives, strategy execution
- Provide contract management support to internal program teams, providing a strategic viewpoint, assisting in solving complex problems, and offering creative solutions
- Take charge of contract logistical activities such as shipping, closeout and contract execution tasks
- Analyze, assess and mitigate contractual and business risks, help establish effective business deals to reduce risk
- Prepare, negotiate, review, and execute contracts detailing prices, terms and special provisions
- Responsible for identifying applicable subcontract flow-down clauses and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, corporate policies and best practices
Qualifications:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Law, Business Management, Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related fields
Preferred Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience in creating and maintaining complex Excel spreadsheets
- Familiarity with U.S. government agencies
- Self-starter with strong organizational and computer skills
- Creative and strategic mindset, ability to understand and identify risk
