IT Security Intern

Your Opportunity 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented internto join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Computer Science student to gain hands-on experience in a global IT security team and apply your technical skills to solve real-world business challenges. As an intern, you will work closely with senior members of our IT Security team to gather, analyze, report, and review cybersecurity information and threat intelligence which will help protect the organization and delivers measurable value.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing information and identifying potential solutions to address security challenges.
• Support the design, testing, and implementation of security controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and document project requirements.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to support requests and recommendations.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide insights to improve existing systems or processes.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to team goals and objectives.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and familiarity with frameworks or tools is an asset.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and system design principles is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
• Basic understanding of Data analytics tools is a plus.

Education and Experience

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and having completed your second or third year of study. 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Pay Range:

• Locations in Lower Mainland - $21.56-29.59/hr
