Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern – Manufacturing Plannerfor Summer, 2026. The position is based in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.

Hitachi Rail provides signaling systems for metros and light rail systems. Our solutions provide efficient, safe and green transportation solutions for people around the world. We’re looking for eligible students to join Hitachi Rail! Hiring for May 2026 through August 2026.

Accountabilities:

Familiarity with production planning software (SAP) is welcomed
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret production data and provide actionable insights
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work with complex data and ensure precision in reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Develop skills and knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment
Mentorship: Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced production planning professionals
Assist Planning manager and team with analysis and other procedural improvements
Take an active part in the execution of development projects
Develop and integrate documentation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy
Provide project status updates as required
Works under close supervision of the Planning Manager

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Current Junior or Senior at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027.
Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite

Languages:

Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
