SUMMARY
The Engineer Intern - M&S at Pierce Manufacturing performs simulation activities using CAE tools to model, analyze and provide creative, feasible solutions to problems encountered in product development. Communicates simulation methodology, inputs, assumptions, results and recommended actions to design engineering and leadership verbally and through written reports. This is a non-supervisory position.
YOUR IMPACT
- Create models and perform analysis on new or existing products using CAE tools such as ADAMs, ANSA, Patran, Nastran, LS-Dyna, Star-CCM+, and Amesim.
- Propose appropriate simulation approaches and methodologies to maximize customer value.
- Maintain effective communication with internal customers on project scope, technical approach, timing, and results.
- Provide clear interpretation of simulation and analysis results to customers through technical reports and presentations.
- Provide technically feasible approaches for product improvement to result in improved performance and weight / cost reductions based on analysis.
- Follow established best practices and modeling methodologies to ensure a consistent approach.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete work and meet established and agreed upon deadlines.
- Conduct duties in an ethical, professional manner consistent with the Oshkosh Way and defined policies and procedures.
- Become familiar with Creo and Creo simulate.
- Learn Python to develop scripts for process automation.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Engineering field.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements.
- Previous internship experience or work-related experience.
- Experience using CAE tools
- Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design.

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
