Schedule Details/Additional Information:

The internship will take place June 1st-August 7th 2026. Interns will be scheduled to work 20-30 hours per week, Mon-Fri business hours. This is an on-site role requiring the ability to work at locations throughout the Greater Charlotte area.

Pay Range

$20.00 - $20.00

This internship provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to explore the field of psychiatric care through direct exposure to clinical environments, patient support services, and mental health program operations. Interns will gain insight into behavioral health practices, therapeutic approaches, and the administrative functions that support psychiatric services.

Major Responsibilities:

  • ​Shadow mental health professionals during patient intake, assessments, and therapy sessions.
  • Assist with documentation, scheduling, and coordination of psychiatric services.
  • Support group therapy sessions and wellness programs under supervision.
  • Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with research or data collection for mental health initiatives.
  • Help develop patient education materials and community outreach resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and ethical standards at all times.
  • Gain exposure to psychiatric care models and behavioral health treatment plans.
  • Understand the roles of various mental health professionals in patient care.
  • Develop communication and observational skills in clinical settings.
  • Learn about the integration of psychology, medicine, and public health in psychiatric services.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Currently enrolled with a junior or senior status in a Bachelor's program in Pre-Med, Psychology, or a related field.


Experience Required:

  • No experience required.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Current enrollment with junior or senior status at a regional accredited college or university. Interns are expected to be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree
  • Grade point average of at least 2.5.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
