While reporting to the Plant Manager as the CAD Apprentice, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of production operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in computer-aided design within a professional environment. The apprentice will support the design team in creating, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and models using CAD software.
What you will be doing:
Assist in the creation and revision of 2D and 3D CAD drawings
Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret project specifications
Maintain organized documentation of design files and revisions
Participate in design reviews and team meetings
Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in drafting
Support quality control by checking drawings for accuracy and completeness
We'd love to hear from you if:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Enrollment in the CAD program at Calhoun Community College
Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to learn and take direction
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
