Root was founded on the belief that car insurance is broken, and we set out to change it. We’re harnessing the power of technology to revolutionize this archaic, complicated industry. Using machine learning and mobile telematic platforms, we’ve built one of the most innovative insurtech companies in the world.
The Opportunity
We believe that a disruptive insurance company must have a principled quantitative framework at its foundation. At Root, we are committed to the rigorous development and effective deployment of modern statistical machine learning methods to problems in the insurance industry.
Root’s 11-week Finance and Accounting Internship offers the chance to work on meaningful projects that will support day-to-day financial operations, including data entry, record maintenance, and preparation of key financial reports. The intern will assist with month-end and quarter-end closings, accounts payable and receivable processing, audit and compliance activities, and investor relations tasks. This role also contributes to budgeting and forecasting by tracking departmental expenses and supporting financial research. Additionally, the intern will provide administrative assistance and help with various projects across the finance team.
