The Project Controls Professional Degree Apprenticeship will sit within the Maritime, Land and Modems Pillar of Space Digital. The pillar specialises in supplying mission critical communications on land, at sea and in the air – providing next generation connectivity through secure end to end communication systems and services to militaries, governments and international agencies.
As part of this degree apprenticeship, you will be studying at the University of Portsmouth while working within the team at Airbus.
What you will be doing:
The Project Controls Professional Degree Apprentice will work with experienced programme and project managers to ensure that projects are delivered successfully, safely and on time, on cost and on quality (OTOCOQ).
This role is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring professional, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, to develop their knowledge of planning and scheduling, cost management, cost and risk analysis, estimating, progress and performance monitoring and reporting across all stages of the project lifecycle.
During your time at Airbus, you will interact with people across the business from the project and programme managers to engineers and procurement, finance and commercial specialists. This will enable you to build collaborative relationships across teams, and functions, to deliver meaningful work in accordance with the requirements of regulations, safety, ethics, the environment and duty of care.
Some examples of key activities in the role include:
Determine and implement the required procedures, methods and systems to provide the project and programme managers with reliable controls information;
Review and interpret technical and non-technical project documents when required;
Participate in the risk management process – take part in reviews, challenge risks and assumptions and identify which mitigation measures will work;
Contribute to cost, impact and schedule risk analysis activities
Contribute to the evaluation of invitations to tender and contractual requirements;
Create content for inclusion in bid responses.

Requirements:
In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
112-120 UCAS points made up of 3 A levelsat BBC or above
OR
T-levels - Merit
OR
BTECs (Extended Diplomas) - DDM-DMM
OR
International Baccalaureate - 29
AND
GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English Languageor Functional Skills
