The Commercial lubrication and thermal management systems team analyzes and develops the functional characteristics of the oil system in a highly complex environment.  This is truly a systems role deploying cutting edge systems analysis tools, component testing in rigs, and design, execution, and analysis of full-scale engine testing. 

As a lubrication and thermal management system discipline member, you are a part of an integrated product team at the module level, as well as providing key contributions to the systems integrated product team for the engine chaired by the chief engineer. The lubrication and thermal management systems role also has a unique interface with the engine mechanical systems, air systems, and performance group so that you can truly experience the entire engine while still making deep technical contributions with cutting edge systems design and analysis methods.

What You Will Do

  • Using 1D flow modeling to analyze and design gas turbine lubrication and thermal management systems
  • Use field data to monitor fleet health and support customers
  • Specifying engine validation test plans, reviewing engine and test rig data, and matching analytical models to engine data
  • Optimizing oil system architecture to ensure: safety of flight, provide adequate cooling and lubrication oil flow and pressure to mechanical components,  Oil conditioning , and contain oil within system boundaries
  • Operating independently to develop system level solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and support multiple projects with contending priorities on time and on budget.
  • Ability to be both contributor and technical-leader in high performance teams interfacing with a range of disciplines for module design

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
