Internships will run from mid-May to early August

Interviews and hiring decisions expect to be completed prior to mid-November, with some being completed as early as late September. Qualified candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for Fall term 2026.


The Pension Group Annuity (PGA) Deal Team is seeking a motivated intern to support transaction activity and strategic growth initiatives in the U.S. PRT market. This internship offers exposure to real transactions, cross-functional collaboration, and the workflows that drive successful deal execution, while providing valuable insight into the pension risk transfer business and its role within the broader retirement and insurance industry.

Accountabilities:

Key Goals of the Internship

  • Develop a broad understanding of the U.S. Pension Risk Transfer market and Athene’s role within it.
  • Gain hands-on experience working in a fast-paced, transaction-focused environment.
  • Contribute meaningfully to live deals, research, and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and organizing transaction deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct research and compile information from public filings related to companies considering pension risk transfer opportunities.
  • Prepare presentation materials for senior management and external meetings, with a focus on creating clear, compelling visuals and summaries.
  • Review and summarize Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and deal documentation, highlighting key dates and requirements.
  • Monitor industry transaction activity and competitive landscape trends in the U.S. PRT market.
  • Support process improvements by identifying and implementing opportunities to automate and streamline workflows.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Actively pursuing a four-year degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create graphs, charts, and well-structured presentations
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team


Annual Salary for this role is market competitive.  Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.  Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
