Cultural Resources GIS Intern

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to geospatial analyses, data creation/compilation, and administrative processes led by other AtkinsRéalis staff.

• Processing and posting GIS data to online viewers.

• GIS-based study impact assessments/structure counts.

• GIS support for public meetings for public review of proposed changes to data.

• Attend weekly online meetings to report on progress.

• Georeference historic imagery and conduct general ArcPro Spatial Analysis

• Ad-hoc GIS analysis, mapping and support to client as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of experience in related technical field

• EDUCATION: Completed or currently enrolled in GIS coursework at the university level.

• SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Personal computer with GIS capabilities

• Introductory GIS Skills (Shapefile creation & manipulation, georeferencing, general data management)

Expected compensation range is between $23 - $29hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
