In order to support Airbus Operations we are looking for an

Intern in work preparation and process support for automated fibre deposition technologies (d/f/m)

For CTC GmbH in Stade, we are looking for students for practical assignments (internships),  the topic can subsequently be continued in the form of a bachelors or master thesis. The CTC GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Operations GmbH. CTC is Germany's leading centre for research and development in the field of design and production of large and complex CFRP components; with an international reputation as an expert for process development, series readiness and production optimisation. The focus of the CTC's work is the development of series technologies for the production and assembly of CFRP components in aircraft construction. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Creation of robot code for deposition in automated fibre placement processes

  • Support for placement processes and analysis and optimisation of process control for prototypical and test components 

  • Assessment of the manufacturability of prototype and test components. As well as the development of lay-up strategies and fibre path planning for their manufacturing.

  • Active participation in technological exchange for the further development of hardware and software components in the automated fibre deposition process chain

  • Supporting the integration and commissioning of an online inspection system 

 Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time student in the area of mechanical/ lightweight/ composites/ aerospace engineering; possibly software engineering or an equivalent field of study.

  • Ideally, experience in composite design, fibre composites manufacturing technologies

  • Fluent in German and English.
