The Opportunity

• 4 months: January 2026 - April 2026

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work closely with senior engineers to implement/enhance and troubleshoot software features.
• Learn embedded software development process and gain hands-on experience bringing up hardware for next generation OCS products
• Help maintain clear, accurate technical documentation for code, processes, and test results.
• Solve complex problems in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide support throughout the product verification cycle
• Participate in code inspections

What We’re Looking For

• Education:
  3rd/4th year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent. 

Skills:

To be successful at Lumentum, you will need excellent communication and problem-solving skills.  We value generalists who attack problems from first principles. You will have: 

• C/C++, Bash coding skills
• Experience with protocols such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART, SMBus
• Familiarity with x86 architecture
• Proven ability to take ownership and get things done in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated. Ability to master new skills
• Experience in any source-control system: Git, SVN, etc.
