Job Description

As an AbbVie Procurement Intern, you will participate in a paid, ten-to-twelve-week summer program working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide. AbbVie’s global Procurement business offers you an opportunity to work in a variety of functions based on your degree type.

For this internship, AbbVie is seeking a motivated and dynamic intern to join the Procurement Strategy & Capabilities team. This role will focus on exciting and innovative projects in the Procurement Risk and Procurement Analytics space.

Project Overview:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs aimed at classifying supplier risks within the procurement landscape.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to link existing systems and data pools, supporting seamless integration across procurement functions.
  • Assist in procurement analytics projects by gathering and analyzing data to support scenario modeling for risk and compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions focused on innovative solutions for procurement challenges.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, supply chain management, or related major.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools, including Python, MATLAB, SQL, Pyspark or Power BI.
  • Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in procurement strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
  • Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
