Devon’s Land Internship provides students with the opportunity to learn and apply land management principles in a professional office environment. Students participate in both team and individual assignments, gaining exposure to real-world tasks and projects. This program is designed to help students develop technical and professional skills while exploring potential career opportunities at Devon.

Responsibilities:

Interns apply energy management principles to assignments such as:

  • Conducting title research using courthouse records, online resources, and internal databases

  • Evaluating and securing surface and subsurface rights

  • Preparing and analyzing leases and related agreements

  • Monitoring regulatory activity and filings (OCC, TXRRC)

  • Reviewing title opinions and curative documents

  • Calculating working and net revenue interests

  • Proposing operations (e.g., workovers, recompletions) to interest owners

  • Utilizing GIS and various data sources for data quality initiatives

  • Assisting land staff with assigned projects as needed

  • Application of technical skills acquired in college to real-world scenarios.

  • Advanced computer proficiency, with the ability to optimize and automate processes.

  • Curious and eager to explore AI, data, and technology, with opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and innovations.

Education:

  • Full-time student pursuing a degree in Energy Management, Business, Communications, or other related disciplines

  • Expected Graduation Year: December 2027 through May 2028

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
