As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join our Hardware Engineering Team as part of our Connected Aviation (CA) business. This is an opportunity to join a team supporting the next generation Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems, as well as providing support to existing fielded systems. You will gain experience in electronic design and work with COTS and custom hardware designs to achieve system requirements.
What You Will Do:
The Mechanical Engineering intern will be an integral part of the Hardware team and will become familiar with the following areas:
Working with COTS components to design and integrate new capabilities into a larger system
Verifying assembly and functionality in a laboratory environment
Troubleshooting and analyzing test results
Performing various analyses and simulations
3D CAD modeling and technical drawing creation of mechanical designs including but not limited to electronic equipment racks and air traffic management workstations
What You Will Learn:
Hardware Design process
Collaboration in a multi-discipline environment
Laboratory testing and troubleshooting of COTS devices
Design verification and resolution of Hardware issues
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:
Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories and concepts
Familiar with modeling parts and assemblies using Creo or similar CAD system
Technical experience through prior internships
Self-starting and able to complete tasks given minimal direction
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Good written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and demonstrated history of working well in a team environment

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
