Walker & Dunlop’s Summer Internship Program provides a dynamic environment for students to learn aspects of the commercial real estate finance industry. Each year, W&D invites a distinguished group of interns to participate in a ten-week training and mentoring program to help build their skills and learn about the organization. Interns will play supporting and individual contributor roles and have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our business through hands-on training.

The Multifamily Finance Team works with correspondents, brokers and directly with borrowers around the nation to originate loans. The Multifamily Finance Team coordinates with Underwriting, Closing, and Asset Management to close new loans and retain existing clients.

Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate property operating statements and perform initial due diligence on loans collateralized by multifamily assets.
- Compose Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae narrative packages for proposed loan sales and MBS securitizations.
- Research commercial real estate market trends utilizing internal and external databases and resources.
- Participate on business development calls and meetings with loan Origination teams.
- Collaborate with Investment Sales Brokers, Investment Bankers, and other W&D service provides to advise clients on their commercial real estate investments.
Education and Experience
- Must be enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an undergraduate program at an accredited university
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Must be able to commit to the 10 week program beginning June 1st and ending August 7th
- Relevant work experience a plus
