Salary Range: 33 to 40 (Currency: USD) (Pay period: per-hour-wage)
We are seeking a(n) Ion Trap Fabrication Intern in our Plymouth, MN Location.
We are seeking a highly motivated intern with a background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science to join our team focused on ion trap device fabrication. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development and characterization of advanced wafer-level fabrication processes for quantum technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and optimization of microfabrication processes for ion trap devices.
- Support integration of novel materials into existing fabrication workflows.
- Perform characterization of fabricated devices using techniques such as SEM electrical testing and other materials measurement techniques.
- Analyze process data and contribute to process improvement strategies.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and findings in lab notebooks and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, metrology, and quantum device testing.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Current enrollment in a graduate program
- Graduating on or after 2026
- Experience with materials characterization tools and data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen
WE VALUE:
- Pursuing Masters or PhD degree in in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and microfabrication techniques (e.g., photolithography, etching, deposition).
- Prior experience with ion trap technologies or quantum devices is a plus but not required.
- This internship may lead to opportunities for continued collaboration or full-time employment.
