JOB SUMMARY:

PHD Internship - Fulltime - 40 hours per week

We have an opening for a PhD intern position within our research group at Centric Science Corp. This role will provide support to the development of novel machine learning algorithms for data science applications, specifically focused on image analysis problems. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of computer vision and machine learning techniques and will apply these skills towards solving real-world problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Developing deep learning models for image classification tasks using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs).
• Performing transfer learning experiments to adapt pre-trained CNNs to new datasets.
• Exploring different architectures and training strategies to improve model performance.
• Evaluating and visualizing results to understand model behavior and errors.
• Preparing reports and presentations summarizing work performed.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, PhD students encouraged to apply.
• Strong background in computer vision and deep learning techniques.
• Experience developing applications using Python and relevant libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, keras, etc.
• Knowledgeable in MATLAB and ImageJ helpful but not required.
• Proficient communication skills in English both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

$30-$50 per hour
