Department Introduction

Micron’s Compute Memory Business Unit (CMBU) is at the forefront of developing memory solutions for high-performance computing applications, including AI training and inference. The Product Architecture team works closely with internal and external partners to define and deliver innovative DRAM architectures that meet evolving market demands.

Position Overview

As a Product Architecture Engineer Intern for DRAM, you will gain deep insight into Micron’s product technologies and industry trends. You will support the definition of optimized DRAM solutions for AI applications, collaborate with system architects and technologists across the industry, and contribute to technical engagements and internal development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system architecture exploration and analysis using modeling, simulation, and prototyping tools
  • Collaborate with external partners to identify system bottlenecks and propose innovative solutions
  • Explore system architectures that integrate low-power, high-performance memory technologies
  • Investigate DRAM features that enhance value in AI training and inference applications
  • Partner with internal R&D, design, and product teams to support new product concept implementation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with memory types and architecture
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill and convey technical information
  • Exposure to semiconductor packaging technologies
  • Understanding of SoC/ASIC design and memory hierarchy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of memory subsystem operation in high-performance computing environments
  • Exposure to HW/SW co-optimization and regenerative AI frameworks
  • Experience presenting technical concepts at conferences or consortia
  • Familiarity with industry trends and competitive memory technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical decisions with business strategy

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$43.15 - $43.15

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
