Join us for your placement year in summer 2025! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community.
The Research and Development department is made up of several disciplines incorporating Project Management, Design, Development and Reliability functions.
We are dedicated to our products throughout their entire product life cycle that are manufactured and sold in UK and EU markets utilising a broad range of heating technologies such as boilers, hybrid systems, heat pump systems and alternative low carbon fuels including hydrogen.
We are part of an international network of development centres across the Home Comfort organisation, working together to ensure products are both compliant to the latest legalisations and meet the needs of our customers across the supply chain. You will join an internal network of peers striving to deliver the next range of exciting products.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Design Engineer(s) in the design department at Bosch Thermotechnology UK Ltd with a wide variety of tasks including:
- Working within a project team to assist with various tasks such as drawings, CAD 3D models, ECR and BOMs to ensure the overall project goals are achieved.
- To be responsible for some Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) by writing, update documentation, arranging for samples to be made and, when required, chasing the follow up actions with an ECR.
- To provide clearly documented information about the requirements for each design task.
- Update any reports on the design status on a regular basis

Qualifications
Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Studying a degree in an engineering discipline, ideally mechanical engineering
- Open, approachable person who can work well together with other people inside and outside own department (team player)
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Good attention to detail and a desire to complete each task fully
Our ideal candidate should have:
Knowledge of using Unigraphics (TCNX) 3D CAD – or similar – software
- Ability to create and deliver, clear and concise presentations
- Open to the possibilities of both domestic and international travel
