As a Masters Intern Electrical Engineer here at Honeywell, you will gain hands-on experience in the field of electrical engineering, specifically focusing on electromagnetics. This internship offers you the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of technology.
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Mississauga, Ontario location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge electrical systems and components, enhancing your technical skills while contributing to real-world projects that improve the quality of life for people around the world.
This internship will start in May of 2026.
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Currently pursuing a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electromagnetics.
- Must be able to obtain CGP security clearance.
WE VALUE:
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and principles
- Experience in EMC simulation and modeling tools (examples include use of LTspice, Mathcad, ANSYS, EMA3D)
- Experience with EMC design in aerospace or defense industries and familiarity with EMC standards e.g. DO-160, MIL-STD-461, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement EMC solutions for products to meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications, including design for High Intensity Radiated Fiels (HIRF), Lightning and ESD.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute EMC design plans and EMC Design best practices in all aspects of the product design (mechanical, printed board assembly layout and routing, interconnect, signal integrity)
- Perform EMC analysis to inform the electrical and mechanical design to ensure successful completion of the EMC requirement verification and to identify and resolve issues as needed.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve EMC related problems.
- Ensure compliance with EMC standards and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EMC design processes and efficiency
