Orna Therapeutics, Inc. is a Watertown-based biotechnology startup on a mission to create therapies for diseases inaccessible to existing approaches. We are seeking an exceptional Co-op to join our preclinical bioanalysis team. This team member will learn and contribute to multiple aspects of our in vivo novel panCAR programs. The position will report to a Senior Scientist in the bioanalysis team. An ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication, demonstrate excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, and be curious and self-motivated.


Responsibilities

  • Perform analyte extraction techniques (e.g., immunoprecipitation, SPE) and sample preparation from complex matrices.
  • Assist with development and optimization of LC-MS/MS methods for the quantitative analysis of small molecules and proteins in relevant biological matrices (e.g., plasma, tissues).
  • Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation to ensure robustness, sensitivity, and reproducibility.
  • Keep accurate records and document experimental results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Prepare presentations and present results at internal meetings.
  • Participate in solving technical problems in a logical and rationale manner.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the principles of HPLC and mass spectrometry is a plus.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated, willingness to learn new MS-based technologies.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
