As an 2026 R&D Engineer Intern at MKS Inc., you will partner with Process and Environmental Solutions Engineering and Marketing to prototype a platform for the next generation of a flagship product that can meet new market and customer requirements. In this role, you will report to Senior Product of Marketing Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Collaborate with Process and Environmental SolutionsR&Dand Marketing teams to prototype a next-generation spectrometer platform.

• Supportearly-stage prototyping effortsat addressing emerging market trends and evolving customer requirements.

• Assist in the design and implementation of control/data acquisitionsystems using programming tools such asPython, LabVIEW, and MATLAB.

• Integrate hardware interfaces with software toachieve specialized functions for customers.

• Participate in laboratory testing and validation of prototype systems, ensuring safe and effective operation.

• Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to gather feedback, understand application needs, and contribute to product direction.

• Translate technical insights into practical solutions that align with customer-facing requirements.

• Report directly to the Senior Product Marketing Manager and contribute to cross-functional team efforts.

Skills You Bring:

• Completion of your first year of undergraduate studies in a science or engineering discipline

• Strong grasp of fundamental scientific and engineering principles

• Familiarity with a programming language (Python preferred)

• Ability to work safely and effectively in a laboratory setting

• Interest in customer-facing collaboration and translating technical insights into practical solutions
