As a Fab Manufacturing Technician (MT) Apprentice at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, you will learn how to sustain and improve cycle time by facilitating product movement in our world-class Technology Development Fab.
Micron's Apprenticeship Program offers an “earn and learn” model, where you will receive outstanding on-the-job training enabling you to directly apply the training from your course work to your job. At the end of the apprenticeship, participants will earn a US Department of Labor and industry recognized credential.
Responsibilities:
Work in partnership with production and engineering team members by assisting in monitoring tool performance, scheduling product, acting as the first responder on area inefficiencies (i.e. lots not tracking/staging, data not downloading, tool lockups, and lot processed verification).
Adhere to all apprenticeship guidelines, protocols and additional instructions from program manager and partners
Complete all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with safety policies
Partner with other area MTs and engineering teams to complete daily priorities and assist with monitoring the status of key bottlenecks and priority workstations throughout shift to ensure efficiency
Identify area issues (line down, no redundancy, extended tool down, no support, etc.) that are impacting overall fab performance to management and key partners and assists with resolution
Focus on improving Remote Operations Center (ROC) monitoring tools and contributes to continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Willingness and ability to enroll in College of Western Idaho’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology Basic Technical Certificate or AAS Degree (no prior course work in this field required, however individuals must meet math level requirement to enroll)
Basic to intermediate PC skills with the following platforms: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams) in addition to Zoom for virtual meetings
Solid time management and prioritization skills
Reliable and consistent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of semiconductor production operations concepts
Ability to troubleshoot intermediate problems and identify and resolve root causes
Ability to multi-task and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team environment
Must be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed, including night shift (Micron will work with apprentices to support class schedule as needed)
